Our Story
Born from a Trip to Spain
Before wine, Steffini built a career in pharmaceutical sales. After being laid off in 2010, a trip to Spain introduced her to incredible wines unlike anything she had experienced in the U.S. That journey sparked a passion for discovering exceptional wines and sharing them with others.
Inspired by that experience, Steffini founded Purple Corkscrew—first in Emory Village, and later in its true home in Avondale Estates, where the welcoming, walkable community perfectly reflects the spirit of the shop.
More than a decade later, Purple Corkscrew has become a place where the staff feels like family, regulars have become friends, and every bottle on the shelf has been thoughtfully selected and personally tasted by Steffini.
